DB Aware SRV Controls

I am enjoying quite good results with SRV and Insert Controls. I would now like to advance two new ideas.
1. DB Merge Fields. Is there a DBMergField SRV Control ?
2. DB Bound editor controls. Is there any DB Data Aware control I can use ? I would like the control to actually Create a new Underlying field in my DB, or to use an existing DB Field.
