I do not know in which format you copied/pasted text.

It depends on browser (or other program) you used to copy text, and version

of Windows.

Which browser do you use to copy text? If IE, the most probably text was

pasted as a RTF. If other browsers - text was pasted as a plain text.

Which keyboard language was set at the moment of copying? (not pasting!)

For NT-based systems, it is very important when copying a plain text -

copied text has a language of the keyboard
