how to apply superscript with vshift?

I have a style defined with a small font and vshift 45, but when I apply the

style with ApplyTextStyle(8) then nothing happens on screen. When I save

the file the style is indeed applied:

rvf: 8 1 -1 1 0 0

test

xml: <text textstyleno="8" br="0">test</text>.

Formatting the file after the change or reloading the file does not help;

the text is shown in the default font, default size, default vshift. What

to do?
