Checkpoint is associated with item. For text, item is adjacent text of the

same style without hard line breaks. If you have several items on the line,

you can have several checkpoints.

The problem is - there is no convenient way to split the given item into two

items. It can be done by some tricks

- inserting something in caret position, assigning checkpoint, deleting this

"someting";

- applying new text style to the text to the right of caret, assigning

checkpoint, restoring the original text style.

In one of next updates I'll add a method for splitting text item at the

caret position.
