Several years ago, I tried WPTools but then switched to TRichview.


I work with very large documents and WPTools is much slower (like 10 times

slower) to load and process large documents than TRichview.  WPTools also uses

much more memory (about 4 times as much if I recall).  I contacted the author

Julian Ziersch and he had said that this was because of the internal

processing in WPTools, which is on a character by character basis.  As a

result, he said it was not possible to make it much faster or use less memory.
