There is no documentation on item types and it's not planned.

I want to be free to make any changes in internals any time. But no cardinal

changes are planned, so the most probable changes will be in adding new

methods and new parameters to existing methods. And I'll try to help if you

code will not work after changes.

Is it necessary to show your inplace editor in TRichViewEdit?

If it will work only in TRichView (viewer), you can try to use focused state

of items.

I created a demo (exe):

Is it what you want?

Unfortunately, this demo will not work properly with trial version.

If you'll order using a credit card, the most probably you'll receive the

source code in the same day.
