Yes, currently the only way to switch text back to normal is to type some

text after the hyperlink, call TrvActionInsertHyperlink again, and enter

empty target.

As I can see, pressing Backspace after the hyperlink removes it completely

It's like having two caret positions before and after each hyperlink?

It may be an interesting idea
