Got it.  No problem now.  My form fields have their own back color, and I

left memo field unprotected.  The back color stays with other lines they add

so it looks like its still the same item.  The 1st item retains its tag, so

in the FillFields routine I call another routine with the RVData of the cell

and that routine iterates thru the RVData items and adds them to a string

list that then gets saved to field.
