RichView 24.0.3 includes a new set of images for dialog boxes of RichViewActions and ScaleRichView
Users of RAD Studio 10.3 and later can choose the icon set used for selection buttons in dialog windows. By default, the old set of images is used, but by using the TRVAControlPanel.DialogIcons property you can switch to the new set based on Google Material Symbols and Icons.
The new icons not only have a more modern look, but they also provide better support for high-DPI display modes and VCL themes.
The old images were designed for 96 DPI. At higher resolutions they are scaled up (but only by an integer factor), which makes them appear less sharp. They also have limited support for VCL and Windows dark themes: in dark mode their colors are simply inverted.
The new images include versions for multiple resolutions (both very high and low) so they do not appear blurry. When displayed, they are recolored to match the text color defined by the Windows or VCL theme, which makes them look good in any theme.
The old icons are an integral part of RichViewActions and do not have a special license. The new icons are distributed under the Apache 2.0 license. This license allows unrestricted use, but if you use them, you must include in your documentation a notice that Google Material Icons and Symbols are used under this license, along with a link to the license text: http://www.apache.org/licenses/LICENSE-2.0
Below you can see examples of dialog boxes with new images in various VCL themes.
